Saturday 30 June 1917 – cousin David Kentish in France

Letter sent to Spencer from cousin David Kentish, on active duty in France. It was enclosed with Spencer’s letter dated 22 July 1917. David, from Pompapiel, north of Bendigo, Victoria, was killed in action on 12 July 1918.

Dear Spencer

I am writing these few lines to see if I can hear from you. I got your address from Home lately. I am in D Company 6th Batt, we often run into different ones so always have a chance of meeting.

They were all well at Home when they wrote. Hoping this will find you. I have had a good spin so far.
